Tim Adams Becomes The First Black Mayor Of Bowie

Bowie Maryland will welcome its first Black mayor. Tim Adams was elected mayor of the city following a non-partisan municipal election held on Tuesday.

Adams garnered a total of 3,977 votes beating out Dennis Brady (2,721 votes),  Len Lucchi (2,600 votes),  Keith Jackson (140 votes), and Emerson Dewitt Ruth (140 votes). He will replace Mayor G. Frederick Robinson who recently retired after serving as mayor since 1998.

Adams will be sworn in on November 18.
