'Million Moe March' Connects #DontMuteDC With D.C. Statehood

September 19, 2019

A march scheduled for Thursday night connects the goals of the #DontMuteDC movement and D.C. statehood advocates.

The “Million Moe March” aims to raise awareness for victims of gun violence while also celebrating D.C. culture and its potential statehood.

The event, a collaboration between Long Live GoGo and 51 For 51, will begin at 6 p.m. with a march on the National Mall. Big G and the Backyard Band will also be on hand.

Council member Robert White Jr. is among the scheduled speakers. A performance will begin at 7 p.m.

The event comes after Mayor Muriel Bowser and others will speak at a hearing to support D.C. becoming a state.
