A new Harriet Tubman museum is headed to Cape May.

The museum, which will be erected next to the historic Macedonia Baptist Church, will be dedicated to highlighting the life and efforts of Harriet Tubman. It will include unique artifacts from the Underground Railroad, items from Rev. Robert Davis (the late pastor of  Macedonia Baptist Church), and modern African American art.

Residents of Cape May funded a total of $160,000 of a $500,000 goal to bring the museum to fruition.

The Harriet Tubman Museum is set to open on June 19 (Juneteenth) of 2020.
