As 2019 comes to a close there is the undeniable need to celebrate a year full of extreme music highs (ie. Lizzo and Megan Thee Stallion) as well as the close of an iconic decade in music (will the BeyHive stand up?). Either way, we anticipate the year to go out with a bang and so here are some options across the DMV to get you home safely as you celebrate the end of a decade to remember.

Metro - If you've had a bit too much to drink on New Year's Eve, metro could be a good option to get you home safely. All stations will be open until 2 a.m. on December 31 and will reopen from 8 a.m. until 11 p.m. on New Year's Day.

Lyft - Ride sharing is always a great way to go when planning a night out. Lyft is partnering with Washington Regional Alcohol Program to provide you with a  "SoberRide." A code will be posted on December 31 on the soberride.com website at 9 p.m., which will give riders $15 off a ride taken between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

Uber - There are a few options to get a discounted Uber ride on New Year's Eve. Interested riders can use Scrofano Law's $10 off code efwr5dc, which is valid for up to 100 Uber rides beginning in Washington, D.C. That promotion starts at 12 a.m. December 31 and continues through 4:00 a.m. on New Year's Day. Miller Lite is also providing the code MILLERTIME18 for $15 off a ride with Uber.

DC Streetcar - The H street route will run on extended hours on New Year's Eve.
