George Zimmerman Is Suing Trayvon Martin's Family for $100 Million

George Zimmerman is once again slinking into news headlines. This time, he is filing a lawsuit against the family of Trayvon Martin along with prosecutors and a book publisher for $100 million in damages.

Zimmerman was charged with murder and later acquitted in the shooting of teen Trayvon Martin in 2012.

He is suing the family of Martin for defamation and conspiricy for attempting to convict him of murder in the trial.

The suit alleges that false evidence was used against Zimmerman in the trial and that the Martin family engineered a testimony.

Ben Crump, the Martin family's lawyer, was named as a defendant in the suit for his recent release of the book "Open Season: Legalized Genocide of Colored People" spoke out in a statement.

“I have every confidence that this unfounded and reckless lawsuit will be revealed for what it is – another failed attempt to defend the indefensible and a shameless attempt to profit off the lives and grief of others,” he said.
