2019 is coming to a close, and it's been quite the year of headlines both locally and in the entertainment scene.

As we look toward 2020, these are what WPGC's Sunni and The City said are the four biggest moments of the year.

When We Found Out 21 Savage Was British

The rapper always said he was from Atlanta, so it was big news when we found out 21 Savage was not only British, but was also about to get deported. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested him in February and said he remained in the U.S. longer than his visa permitted. It was something music fans likely didn't see coming and immediately made national headlines.

Lil Nas X vs. Billboard

Things didn't initially go well for Lil Nas X's "Old Town Road" hit, as Billboard removed the song from its country chart for failing to include enough elements to fit the genre. But then, Billy Ray Cyrus got involved and changed the course. The song became so popular that it spent 19 weeks in the top spot, setting a new record. The now-hit song wasn't always on that path.

Nipsey Hussle Shot And Killed

Nipsey Hussle was shot and killed in March, leaving many of his peers to mourn. Hussle had just received a Grammy nomination and left behind two children and his girlfriend, Lauren London. Across the country, Hussle's legacy was celebrated at vigils and in songs.

Everyone Went Crazy Over The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

The sandwich was introduced and became so popular that it was sold out not long after its debut. Then, several fast-food restaurants took to social media to debate who had the best chicken sandwich. It took a while, but in November, the sandwich returned to Popeyes restaurants.
