I nominate my boss Donald Curtis for the Real Good People Award. He is the CEO and founder of SOUL Programs; SOUL (Student-Athletes Organized to Understand Leadership) is a sports-based youth development program that collaborates with DC Public Schools and other community-based organizations to provide academic, athletic, and professional enrichment opportunities for low-income DC youth. He has been supporting youth development programs since 2003. Since then he has worked in a variety of youth systems; supporting youth in mental health care institutions, foster care, juvenile detention centers. Donald is the Assistant basketball coach at H.D. Woodson High school. He has created and continues to create numerous partnerships all over to develop SOUL. SOUL has over twenty partnerships thanks to Donald's vision and relationship building with people who are interested in what SOUL does for the youth. SOUL offers six programs for middle and high school students which include sister circle, young men's round table, CASH(college access study hall), urban sustainability, and college 101. Donald is a charismatic, loving, helping, and one of a kind  boss which I have been lucky enough to have, most importantly an amazing mentor and father figure to the students which he works hard for everyday.

Shack and the WPGC Street Team surprised Donald with his award at Uline Arena in D.C. on Monday, August 20.
