Police: Man Who Killed Pro Ball Player in Prince George's Co. 'Targeted' Him

A man accused of shooting and killing an aspiring professional basketball player in Prince George's County "was upset" with the victim "over a personal issue," police say. 

Franklin Scott, 27, has been charged with murder in the shooting death of  24-year-old Lamont Adair in the City of Seat Pleasant earlier this month.

A second suspect was arrested in the shooting death of  Adair.  23-year-old Olajuwon Jackson of the 5000 block of Addison Road in Fairmount Heights. Jackson is charged with first and second degree murder and is being held on a no-bond status.  

Around 3:50 pm on August 8, officers with the Seat Pleasant Police Department were called to the 6600 block of Greig Street in Seat Pleasant for the report of a shooting. 

Officers found the victim outside suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.

Scott targeted Adair on the day of the fatal shooting, police say.

He is charged with first and second degree murder and is being held on a no-bond status.
