Wrangler Takes Heat for Lil Nas X Collaboration

Some Wrangler fans had less than nice things to say about the collaboration.

Wrangler recently collaborated with Lil Nas X to produce a line of "Old Town Road" themed merchandise.

While many were super excited to see the brand feature jeans with the phrase "on my booty" printed across the back pocket under a Wranger patch, others weren't so happy.

"@wrangler please tell us this isnt true we understand you gotta make money some how but these musicians are gonna hurt wrangler like the rappers that hurt carhartt last thing i wanna do is pay $60 for a pair of pants that have always cost me $22.79," @agent_orange_jku wrote in an Instagram post.

"Wrangler has been the jean brand of outdoorsmen, farmers, and workers. I dont think this is a good campaign to run for this jean brand," user @thewild17 posted under a photo.

"Wrangler is my favorite pant, and you just had to go and ruin it with old town road. --:" @logan.waldron wrote.

"Thank you wrangler for ruining the original cowboy cuts awesome just fantastic --" @shary_tris wrote.

Still, many continued to celebrate the brand for expanding it's audience and seizing the opportunity.
