We all know Sunni and the City as one of our beloved hosts on The Joe Clair Morning Show, but now she’s adding author her long list of accomplishments.

Sunni discusses how she’s crushing it with her new book Sill I, Shine, which she began writing back in 2010.

“I didn’t write it for a purpose,” Sunni tells Poet on Women Crushing It Wednesday. “I just wrote it because it was my story. I believe every person has a story they should tell.”

The book chronicles her life as young immigrant girl with a determination to become a force in the media industry even if that meant straying from the path her parents envisioned for her life.

“I had to make sure that my dream was bigger than their fear for me,” Sunni says.

Her story serves as a reminder of what can happen when you go after your goals fearlessly.

“I just want everyone to follow your path and I just want people to be genuinely happy," Sunni says. "It's never too late to follow your passion.”

Still, I Shine is available now on Amazon.
