Women Crushing It Wednesday: Christina Sturdivant Sani

January 16, 2019

By Erin Thibeau

This week's "Women Crushing It Wednesday" spotlights Christina Sturdivant Sani, a reporter and D.C. native who is bringing awareness to the underrepresentation black journalists in local media.

In her conversation with Poet, Christina remembers being hired as the first black staff writer at DCist. She now writes for Washington City Paper, Washingtonian, and other media outlets.

After her article "The Reality of Being a Black Journalist Covering Local D.C. News" made waves back in November, Christina is putting the call out for stories from D.C. natives in a new WCP contest.
