Sheletta Brundidge’s 4-year-old son is autistic and nonverbal, but that changed when she played Lil Nas X’s “Old Town Road.”

In a tweet about what Brundidge called an “#oldtownroad miracle,” the Minnesota mother shared a video of her son Daniel humming and singing the song. She also said Daniel’s therapists have used the song during his sessions.

Billy Ray Cyrus, who appears with Lil Nas X in one version of the song, retweeted Brundidge’s video. The rapper said on Twitter “what a king” in response to the tweet.

“Old Town Road” first made headlines when it was removed from Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. It also topped Drake’s streaming record.

For Daniel and his family, though, it meant even more.
