George Washington University Hospital and MedStar Georgetown University Hospital were recognized as top hospitals in the District with diverse staffs.

The university-affiliated hospitals were the lone two that made the cut in D.C. on BlackDoctor.org’s list of top hospitals for diversity.

Bon Secours Health System, Johns Hopkins Hospital and University of Maryland Medical System all made the cut in Maryland.

To determine which hospitals received the recognition, the site considered factors like the way persons of color and women were represented at the highest levels, whether the staff was culturally competent and whether the clinical and administrative staffs were inclusive and diverse.
