In honor of Michelle Obama's 55th birthday Thursday, throw it back to 2012 with this interview between WPGC's Poet and the former First Lady.

Obama talks about the "long journey" of her husband's second presidential campaign and praises Poet, saying "We're gonna be countin' on voices like you" to get out the vote.

"I'm just trying to make my mother and grandmother proud, and all of our mothers and grandmothers proud, because we know who we are," she continued.
