A new program will provide free college textbooks to students enrolled at historically black colleges and universities.

The United Negro College Fund and Cengage partnered to give 1,000 students access to free textbooks for a semester.

Five-hundred students will receive the free subscriptions each semester during the upcoming school year.

Interested applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be black and of African descent, complete a FAFSA form, have a financial need and be a full-time student at a HBCU.

UNCF will choose the students who receive the textbooks.

Details of the program can be found here.
