A summer jobs program is helping young people across Prince George's County "participate in career development, life-skills training and summer employment opportunities."

Prince George's County youth can apply (for free!) now through March 22 for the Youth@Work / Summer Youth Enrichment Program (SYEP). Ages 14 to 17 earn $9.80 an hour, while ages 18 to 22 earn $11.50 an hour.

The Summer 2019 program kicks off with orientation for young employees on June 24, and the last day of work is August 2.

Fifteen to 19-year-olds are encouraged to participate in free Job Readiness Training. The curriculum develops skills like communication, customer service, and teamwork.

SYEP allows youth to take part in the program twice (or up to the age of 19), and returning employees are eligible for Career Pathways for Second Year Students.

Apply here or call (301) 883-6200 for more information.
