Painful, But Necessary: Oprah to Interview Central Park Five

The true story of The Central Park Five didn't end where it left off in Ava DuVernay's Netflix adaptation.

In real life the wrongly convicted teens, now men still struggle with the injustices they endured.

On Sunday, Netflix released a preview of the upcoming special “Oprah Winfrey Presents When They See Us Now”.

Oprah Winfrey will interview all five men, Antron McCray, Kevin Richardson, Yusef Salaam, Raymond Santana and Korey Wise, and check in on how they are dealing with the renewed pain that comes with their story being retold.

"It is bittersweet," Richardson says in the trailer. "Watching [ When They See Us> is painful, but it's necessary."
