Say Goodbye To Summer: DC Pools Begin Closing This Weekend

Pool across the district will begin closing for the season as early as Sunday, August 11.

D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation announced six pool closures that will occur at 6 p.m. on Sunday.

The following pools will close Sunday:

Ward 1: Park View Children's Pool (693 Otis Pl., NW)
Ward 1: Happy Hollow Children’s Pool (2200 Champlain St., NW)
Ward 6: Lincoln Capper Children's Pool (555 L St., SE)
Ward 7: Benning Park Pool (5100 Southern Ave., SE)
Ward 7: Kelly Miller Pool (4900 Brooks St., NE)
Ward 8: Douglass Pool (1921 Frederick Douglass Ct., SE)

This kicks off the first wave of closures, as pools will slowly close throughout the rest of the month.

All outdoor pools will close by 6:00 p.m. on Labor Day.
