WATCH: What Biggie told Joe Clair Right Before His Death

March 9, 2019

March 9 is the anniversary of the death of the Notorious B.I.G.

WPGC's own Joe Clair, who hosted BET's "Rap City" from 1994 to 1999, was famously the last person to interview Biggie before he was killed in a drive-by shooting. The interview was recorded on February 24, 1997.

In the segment, Biggie talked about his beef with 2pac: "I kind of realized how powerful 2pac and I was because we two individual people, we raised a coastal beef." He also touched on his rival's death.

Responding to people who criticized his lyrics, he said, "I'm just a narrator; I'm just tellin' a story."

On his relationship with ex Faith Evans, the rapper said, "We gon' always be together cuz we got a little shorty together."

It's poignant to hear the 24-year-old rapper talk about his plans for the future, from a clothing line to movies. "To know me is to love me," Biggie said.
