Kanye West has been the center of controversy for months following his public support of the Trump administration and most recently his Sunday Service concerts. One concert in particular set Black Twitter abuzz after West brought Sunday Service to Howard University's Yard during homecoming.

On Saturday morning, West -- accompanied by Kim Kardashian-West, North and Saint West and a gospel choir -- performed a variety of gospel influcenced songs surrounded by an audience of Howard students and alumni.

The university shared a video of the experience on Twitter and was met with backlash. Many users pointed out that West has a track record of using rhetoric that is dangerous to the Black community.

"Did you all give him a history lesson before allowing him to perform? I love Gospel & praising the Lord. I don’t love someone who perpetuates white supremacy & supports a system that makes it harder for Howard & the people it serves to live and breathe." @ShekinahGloryH wrote.

"As a HU alumna, I am deeply disappointed and confused by this. I’m actually shocked that 1) he was invited to begin with and 2) that any students showed up at all. No school is perfect, but I expected much better from the Administration and students," @A_Nese_ssary wrote.

"Kanye is anti-black. The easiest way to get black people to overlook horrific abuse & mistreatment is to cover it w/ church. Been done since slavery times. Murderer, Amber Guyger, did it so well the judge came down from the bench to hug her. Kanye is trying it now," @tontonlove wrote.

"As a Howard Dad of a current student, a Howard son and Grandson who’s a proud Morehouse Man.. Man, can’t tell you how disappointing this is to see. Kanye is delusional and uneducated and trying to get young minds to support the abomination that is Donald J Trump," @financejonE wrote.

West has been previously criticized for his TMZ rant claiming that slavery was a choice.

Howard University has not yet responded to WPGC's request for comment.
