LeBron James Becomes a Laker, The Internet Almost Breaks

July 2, 2018

By: Eyasu Delesa

For the first time in his career, LeBron James will not be a member of an Eastern Conference basketball team.

The NBA's biggest star and best player inked a four-year, $153.3 million contract with the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, changing the dynamic of the entire league with one chess move.

The move showed a sign of commitment, with the contract being the longest deal James has signed since he joined the Heat in 2010, ESPN reports.

On one hand, Lakers fans haven't had much to root for since Kobe retired. On the other hand, most Lakers fans aren't very fond of LeBron because of the constant comparisons to Kobe. LeBron super fans share a similar sentiment aimed at Bryant. Now the two sides have to come together for an odd marriage.

The breaking news brought all types of reactions from fans, critics, teammates (old and new), and just about anyone else you can think of.
