Jaden Smith – actor, rapper, and son of Will and Jada – joined DJ Flexx in the studio to talk about headlining his own tour, musical influences, and hitting the Met Gala red carpet with his gold record in hand.

Smith, who is currently touring his December 2017 album "Syre," says being the headliner is "a lot of pressure," but he wants to "keep the fire hot" and "stay inspiring people."

How does Smith balance his two passions? "Music and acting are definitely tied, I love doing both of them," Smith told Flexx. He also revealed he has a movie in the works: "I am making a movie for my album, so I'm kinda bridging everything together."

One of the most interesting tidbits from the interview was Smith's listening habits. "I try to listen to 'Man on the Moon' one all the way through once a day, every 24 hours," he said. Smith also loves Drake and A Tribe Called Quest. Those three are the rapper's "Holy Trinity."

Smith also touched on why he brought the certification plaque for his gold record for "Icon" to the Met Gala red carpet.

"I brought the plaque out with me the other night just to show that you can have the plaque, you can do that, you can...strive to whatever your dreams are and you can get there."
