5 Ways to Have a Totally Dry Mother's Day

The forecast for the weekend calls for a ton of rain, but don’t let your Mother’s Day plans get washed out!

Here are five things to do with mom while staying dry this holiday weekend!

International Spy Museum

The museum’s new location debuts Sunday and will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Now at L’Enfant Plaza, the museum is offering free admission to all moms. The Spy Museum features interactive exhibits and a large collection of spy-related artifacts.

Mother’s Day High Tea

Celebrate your mom by taking her for a cup of tea! After selecting your tea, you can snack on finger sandwiches, scones, cakes and pastries. One drink and a box of macaron come with the $40 ticket.

Mercado DC

Eastern Market is celebrating Mother’s Day with an event highlighting Latin and Spanish food. Street food vendors will offer several options, and a Latin band will make an appearance. Tickets are $12, and children 16 and under are free.

Sip and Paint

Take mom to paint on Sunday afternoon with a glass of wine. From noon to 2 p.m., create the painting of mom’s dreams. A $30-$40 ticket includes wine and all supplies.

Mother’s Day at Culture Coffee Too

Celebrate Mother’s Day with brunch and coffee at Culture Coffee Too. Beginning 11 a.m. Sunday, the shop will offer brunch and coffee for $20, with wine and other refreshments available for purchase and free gifts for mom.
