Build-A-Bear's 'Pay Your Age' Promo Is Back

The Build-A-Bear promotion that boasted such a high turnout last summer that the company’s CEO had to close lines is back.

Build-A-Bear’s second “pay your age” promotion, in which customers pay their age for a new stuffed bear, will manage crowds by having visitors enter to win a ticket for the event. More than 200,000 customers will receive a ticket, which will allow them to create a bear during a redemption period the week of June 24.

The store is setting a limit of two bears per ticket.

Last summer, the promotion made headlines as extensive lines appeared outside of the stores nationwide. The lines in many cases were so long that some lines were closed prematurely, leaving customers empty handed.
