Michelle Williams Checks into Mental Health Facility, Opens up About Depression

Michelle Williams has opened up about seeking help for her depression. And TMZ reports the 37-year-old Destiny's Child singer checked herself into a mental health facility just outside L.A. a few days ago.

“For years I have dedicated myself to increasing awareness of mental health and empowering people to recognize when it’s time to seek help, support and guidance from those that love and care for your wellbeing,” Williams said in an Instagram post.

“Today I proudly, happily and healthily stand here as someone who will continue to always lead by example as I tirelessly advocate for the betterment of those in need.”

It's not the first time she has revealed her struggle with depression. Williams got candid on "The Talk" last October.

Missy Elliott shared her support for the singer, saying, "let's keep the ones who are openly dealing with it uplifted & be encouraging to them!"

Plenty of other celebrities replied to the singer's Instagram with words of encouragement. 

"Love u so Michelle! Really proud of you. Sending u all the love in the world," Solange wrote. 

"Michelle My Belle, I’m so proud of you! You have given unselfishly of your time and support to so many and I know that you will be the best example of self care which we all need. Keep being a warrior and an advocate for you. I love and support you with all my being. I so love and admire you [sic> amazing courage," Tina Knowles said.

Octavia Spencer posted: "Yesssss. Sending prayers of strength your way."
