Prince George's County Police have arrested and charged a D.C. police officer with third-degree sex offense for engaging in a sexual act with a minor.

At around 1:30 a.m. on April 30, the victim's mother called the police to her home on Teakwood Drive in Upper Marlboro after finding the suspect, 25-year-old Nathan Clinkscale, with her daughter in the basement.

Clinkscale and the 14-year-old girl had recently met on a dating app known as Interracial Cupid, WJLA reports. Clinkscale claims the girl told him she was 18 years old.

Clinkscale has been a police officer in the 5th District, in Northeast D.C. for a year, according to a department statement. According to the Washington Post, he was off duty during the alleged incident and was immediately placed on administrative leave.
The D.C. Police Department told the Post, “The allegations against him are disgraceful, and do not represent the standards of ethics our sworn officers are committed to upholding every day.”
The suspect was in custody of the Prince George's County Department of Corrections as of Monday.
