Drink Michael Jordan's New Luxury Tequila for a Cool $1,600

Michael Jordan is giving fans a different kind of shot.

The Charlotte Hornets owner has jumped into the liquor business by launching an ultra-premium tequila alongside fellow NBA team owners Jeanie Buss of the Los Angeles Lakers, Wes Edens of the Milwaukee Bucks, and Wyc Grousbeck and wife Emilia Fazzalari of the Boston Celtics, according to Forbes.

The group has chosen the name Cincoro, which translates to five (“cinco”) gold (“oro”) in Spanish and is inspired by the five partners and their quest to create the gold standard in tequila.

“In July 2016, five friendly competitors met for dinner and bonded over their shared passion for tequila,” the brand said in a press release. “After many more adventures together, this group of five founding partners set out with one mission: to create the finest tequila anyone has ever tasted.“

Cincoro comes in four tequilas, Blanco, Reposado, Añejo, and Extra Añejo, and will vary in price from $70 for the Blanco to a jaw-dropping $1600 for the Extra Añejo.

Extra detail was put into packaging, as the glass bottle is made in the shape of an agave leaf and is titled at a 23 degree angle to represent Jordan’s number with the Chicago Bulls.

For the time being, Cincoro will be available in 12 major markers like New York, Florida, and California before expanding nationwide next year.

News of the NBA legend’s latest business venture comes days after he announced a donation in the amount of one million dollars to help those impacted in the Bahamas by Hurricane Dorian.

"I am devastated to see the destruction that Hurricane Dorian has brought to the Bahamas, where I own property and visit frequently," the 56-year-old said in a statement. "My heart goes out to everyone who is suffering and to those who have lost loved ones."
