In perhaps one of the most uncomfortable moments to witness in award show history, the wrong movie was announced as Best Picture winner at the 2017 Oscars.
“Bonnie and Clyde” duo Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway read “La La Land” when presenting Best Picture.
Beatty looked confused when opening the envelope. He passed it to Dunaway, who saw “La La Land” next to Emma Stone’s name and read it aloud.
The cast and crew of the musical joined the stage to accept the honor, but they were interrupted mid-speech. Producer Jordan Horowitz was forced to take the microphone and the movie had lost to “Moonlight.”
It now looks like Beatty was given the envelope for Actress in a Leading Role.

PriceWaterhouseCoopers, the accounting firm in charge of the Oscars balloting process, apologized for the mistake on Monday morning.
