One person was killed and three others wounded on Wednesday night in a shootout during T.I.’s New York City concert.

Shots were fired at the concert venue at Irving Plaza near Union Square, around 10:15 p.m.

According to the “New York Daily News,” a fight erupted backstage in a green room above the stage as hip-hop artists Maino and Uncle Murda were performing. It reportedly started as a beef between two rival crews associated with Maino and rapper Troy Ave.

Ronald McPhatter was shot in the stomach and later died at a nearby hospital. Maggie Heckstall was shot in the leg, and Christopher Vinson was shot in the chest. Both are in stable condition. Troy Ave was shot in the leg and is now reportedly in good condition.

The shootout sent the crowds at the packed concert venue into chaos.

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton had harsh words after the shooting. On Thursday morning, Bratton told WCBS 880, “The crazy world of the so-called rap artists who are basically thugs that basically celebrate the violence they’ve lived all their lives and unfortunately that violence often manifests itself during the performances and that’s exactly what happened last evening.”

Police say no arrests have been made.
