It looks like the Obamas have settled on the home they will live in after the White House.

In March, the president told supporters the First Family would stay in the District after his term ends in January 2017, so 14-year-old Sasha can finish up high school at Sidwell Friends.

Ever since, the rumor mill has focused on where the family would move.

On Monday, “National Journal” and other sources reported the Obamas had set their sights on renting a home in Kalorama, an upscale neighborhood popular among ambassadors and former politicos.

According to “Independent Journal Review,” the family has picked out a nine-bedroom, eight-bathroom mansion on a quiet, leafy street in Kalorama, right across from Rock Creek Park.

The 8,000 square-foot house on Belmont Road has an estimated value of $6.35 million. The current owner is Joe Lockhart, a former press secretary and senior advisor to President Bill Clinton, an advisor to then-Senator John Kerry and current executive vice president of communications for the NFL who lives in New York City.

The D.C. home of Hillary and Bill Clinton is walking distance from the mansion, so the Obamas will have friends nearby, unless, of course, the Clintons take up residence in the White House.
