Sam Smith is having a horrible, no good, very bad couple of days.
After having to cancel dates in Australia after a vocal cord hemorrhage left him unable to sing, Smith is now canceling three additional dates in Japan (May 7 and 8) and the Philippines (May 10).
Smith is obviously not very happy about this current state, taking to Instagram to post a very brooding photo, along with an apology to his fans. He also let them know that he is now seeking treatment for the injury.
“Very upset about Japan and Manilla dates,” he wrote. “I’ve just left Australia and I’m on my way to the states to see a specialist to see what to do from there…” Ending with an F-word that got at how annoyed he is.
Days before making the announcement of cancelled dates, Smith let fans know how serious his injury was, telling them he hadn’t “spoken in three days.” In that message, he also gave fans a taste of what he was up to, “I’m gonna go back to my black and white movies and pretend I’m Judy Garland for a few more days.”
