After the tragedy that struck Ferguson, Mo. this week, Kimora Lee Simmons has offered to help the family of Mike Brown.

Simmons, who is from St. Louis, posted on Twitter and Facebook that she reached out to Brown’s family over the weekend.

She also started a Go Fund Me page for the Michael Brown Memorial Fund, asking to send financial support to the family.  The page was set up not even 24 hours ago and has $44,000 waiting for the Brown family.

The page states funds will be used “by the Brown family to cover funeral and burial expenses, travel and living expenses of the parents as they seek justice for their son, Michael Brown, Jr.”

On Aug. 15, St. Louis police released the name of the officer who shot Brown, saying he was a six-year veteran with no prior disciplinary actions against him.
