Ray J Talks Privacy Issues & New Single, ‘ATM’

While Ray J has been busy appearing on “Love and Hip Hop: Hollywood,” he took some time out to work on new music, including his current single “ATM” featuring Migos and Dria.  While promoting the song, he stopped by the WPGC studios and talked to DJ Flexx about the single, life in the limelight and his childishly early bedtime.

Most people know Ray J as the younger brother of singer Brandy and infamous partner of Kim Kardashian, but his many years in the limelight has led to life in the public eye and major lack of privacy.  How does he handle life in the spotlight?

“It’s hard sometimes but you just have to keep living,” he tells DJ Flexx.  “It comes with the territory.  Now that it’s real intense and super, super on blast, I just have to start making adjustments and doing things the right way.”

That way has been more geared towards television as of late, working on reality shows and pitching ideas to networks.  “I like selling television shows and pitching shows.  It’s fun,” he admits. “That’s a lane I’m really comfortable in right now.”  Not to mention one of the most profitable lanes.  He’s been an independent artist his entire career and kept most of his earnings, but television gives him a creative and more profitable outlet.

With such a busy lifestyle, fans imagine Ray J partying into the wee hours of the night at some of the biggest clubs in the country, but in reality, the actor and musician doesn’t party.  “I got to bed at like 10 p.m. and I get up at 6 in the morning,” he joked.

The early-to-bed, early-to-rise mentality works in conjunction with one major future goal: marriage and kids.

“I definitely want to get married and have children,” he says while looking at his current girlfriend, Princess Love.  She interjects asking for five kids – all boys.  “Oh hell naw, I need a couple of daughters too,” he laughs.

While no kids are on the way as of yet, he assures DJ Flexx he can live his life without regrets.  “I don’t have no regrets.”

“You shouldn’t do certain things but when you do do them, learn from them.”
