While Robin Thicke is having the worst sales week of his life with Paula, Trey Songz has a big reason to celebrate.

The rapper’s sixth album Trigga skyrocketed to No. 1 on the Billboard charts after selling 105,000 copies in its first week. His last album, Chapter V, was his best-selling release with 135,000 copies its first week.

In an effort to promote his album, the “Na Na” singer spent time in Target and other outlets meeting fans, taking Instagram videos and doing “grassroots” marketing.

Yesterday, Trey hit the DMV for an album signing at DTLR at the Mall of Prince Georges and it was packed with his Angels.

While Trigga is his second No. 1, it is the smallest opening sales week for the rapper since 2007’s Trey Day sold 73,000 within seven days.
