Last night’s BET Awards were filled with many interesting and questionable moments mixed in with epic performances and acceptance speeches.

Like every award show, there are bound to be awkward moments that leave people scratching their head wondering “WTF.”  After nearly four hours, it was hard to narrow it down to five but we did our best.

Young Money Wins Best Group and Lil Wayne Breaks the Microphone

After Young Money won the award for Best Group at the BET Awards, founder Lil Wayne brought the entire gang on stage for a disheveled acceptance speech.  Evidently his excitement got the best of him as he ended the speech with “Moolah baby!” and threw the  microphone to the ground.  As the set changed, you can see the poor BET Awards stagehand running out and trying to salvage the mic.

Robin Thicke’s Desperate Plea for Paula Patton… Again

First, he vowed to get his estranged wife back at every show of his last tour. Then he released a single called “Get Her Back” which chronicled his relationship with Patton.  Then, he named his new album Paula.  Was it surprising at all he used his moment on stage to once again profess his love for his ex? “I miss you and I’m sorry,” he said, as he began to play “Forever Love” on the piano.  The performance ended with a picture of the two of them and the word “Paula” on the big screen.

Pharrell Williams’ Uggs.

Sure, he was a big winner last night and represented Virginia strong, but seriously?    It was so nice of him to dress up…

The Lifetime Achievement Award went to Lionel Richie, but someone failed to use spell check before running the lower-thirds.  During his acceptance speech “Lionel Ritchie” flashed across the screen.

Chris Rock Handed Out Chicken and Waffles

Taking a page out of Ellen Degeneres’ book (who handed out pizza at the Oscars), Chris Rock decided to hand out chicken and waffles to the audience in a miserably long skit.  Piggybacking on this moment, all the awkward “let’s kill time” moments made us cringe throughout the entire show.
