Chris Brown has been released from a Los Angeles jail after serving 108 of his sentenced 131 days.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s deputy Tony Moore told the Associated Press the singer was released at 12:01 a.m. Monday.

Brown’s original sentence ordered him to a year behind bars but the judge gave him credit for the 116 days in rehab and the 59 days he had already served in jail.

Since March, the singer has been in custody after he was kicked out of rehab for breaking its rules.  On top of that, he was ordered to stay in jail after he admitted to violating his probation by getting into a fight with a man outside the W Hotel in Washington, D.C.

Last month, Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were scheduled to go on trial in D.C. over the altercation outside the hotel.  Hollosy was found guilty for assault, a decision he is looking to appeal.  Due to Hollosy’s desire to appeal, Brown’s trial has been rescheduled to June 25.
