Bill Cosby Says He Wants To Create a New Sitcom

Cliff and Clair Huxtable and the lovable Huxtable brood aren’t making a sitcom comeback, but Bill Cosby is trying to, he told Yahoo! TV last week.

Next year will mark three decades since the first episode of The Cosby Show aired, and its colorful sweater-wearing creator and show patriarch, now 76, believes that television has lost something since then.

Cosby tells Yahoo TV! that people have approached him in public asking him to create another TV show.

“They would like to see a married couple that acts like they love each other, warts and all, children who respect the parenting, and the comedy of people who make mistakes,” Cosby said. “Warmth and forgiveness.”

He says he would like it to feature grown children and older parents rather than a young family.

Cosby, whose special “Bill Cosby: Far From Finished” premieres on Nov. 23 on Comedy Central (8 p.m. EST), is full of inspiration these days.

He says he wants to bring the animated Fat Albert character back to television, as well.
