Beyoncé Pays Tribute to Trayvon Martin; Tells Fan To ‘Put That Phone Down’

Shortly after a jury found George Zimmerman not guilty in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin on Saturday night, Beyoncé led concert goers in a moment of silence to pay tribute to the teen during a performance in Nashville.

My friend Portia was in the audience and said that as soon as the crowd realized the verdict was read, they knew the singer was going to do something because the backup dancers looked confused as to what they were suppose to do.

After holding the moment of silence, Beyoncé sang Whitney Houston’s “I Will Always Love You.”

In other Beyoncé news… I am definitely guilty of this one as well!

It seems we’re always trying to capture the moment for Twitter or Instagram instead of enjoying and living in the moment!

Well, in Atlanta Sunday night, Mrs. Carter got very ‘mama like’ and told a fan to “put that damn phone down” and seize the moment!
