Meek Mill was detained by police officers Thursday (November 1) on the eve of his album release party. Of course, the Philadelphia fireplug was hot after the ordeal.

Mill was detained by Philadelphia Police after he was in a vehicle stopped by officers at 1100 W. Girard Avenue last night around 8 p.m.,” reports MTV News. “He was not arrested,” said Philiadelphia Police spokeswoman Julian Russell. “He was stopped in a vehicle but was not arrested. He was only detained in a substation. In normal cases, we do not give out this kind of information, so I can’t release anything further.”

While rumors began to swirl, Mill took to Twitter to give his side of the story.

“I ain’t get locked up,” he tweeted, “definitely not in NYC with no gun! Cops just harassed and violated me last night in Philly just for being famous!”

He posted a picture of himself on a bench, apparently at the aforementioned police substation.

“Cops cost me a lot of money tonight…taking pics of me like I’ma f***in joke…no charges just holding.”

The Maybach Music Group rapper was particularly incensed that he found himself in a postion of having his album cover (Rolex watch attached to the handcuff).

“The crazy part about it is, I really had a handcuff and Rolex on my wrist yesterday…. Really #DreamsAndNightmares.”

He was released the same day.
