Beanie Sigel has run out of time. After being arrested Wednesday (August 30), his bail was revoked and the embattled rapper will now begin serving his prison term immediately.

Sigel was originally scheduled to begin a two-year sentence on September 12 for failing to pay his tax. But he has run out of time. According to Sigel’s legal representative Fortunato N. Perri, the accelerated incarceration came as a result of the former Roc-A-Fella lyricist’s Wednesday arrest on firearm and drugs charges after being pulled over by police during a traffic stop in Delaware County, Pennsylvania.

“At this point, the Federal authorities will take him into custody and he’ll begin serving the sentence that he was going to start on September 12 anyway,” Perri told XXL Magazine. “He had bail set on the new charges, but the Federal authorities have issued a detainer–a warrant, essentially–that will transfer him to Federal custody and he’ll start serving his sentence.”

Sigel recently dropped his new album This Time was arrested with a fellow passenger after officers discovered marijuana, $4,650 in cash, prescription pills, codeine syrup and a .38 caliber handgun in the center of the console. Sigel’s bail was set for $300,000.

Chris Schwartz, head of Ruffhouse records, which released Sigel’s lates effort, has maintained that the label will continue to support the troubled rapper .

“Beanie obviously has been struggling with some personal issues and we continue to support him now and throughout his impending incarceration,” Schwartz said in a statement.—Keith Murphy, CBS
