Rick Ross has just released his label’s second compilation Self Made, Vol. 2 and he’s finishing up his next solo effort God Forgives, I Don’t. Now the Maybach Music boss has his eyes on the joint mixtape with YMCMB’s Drake.
The joint project, originally titled Y.O.L.O. (You Only Live Once), has been talked about for awhile, but Ross said he hasn’t lost sight.
“It’s still a huge possibility,” he told MTV’s RapFix Live. “Me and the homey stay in contact all the time and we record often. So it’s just making that decision and moving forward with it. I was just focusing on Self Made Vol.2 [and] finishing my album God Forgives, I Don’t.…”
But if the project does come to fruition, it will likely assume a new title. Y.O.L.O. was already name-dropped in Drake’s hit single “The Motto”: “Now she wants a photo/ You already know, though/ You only live once/ That’s the motto, n***a, YOLO.”

“That title has become so … it’s like an epidemic,” Drake told MTV News of the original title. “So I hope by the time we finish it, it would still hold weight and substance. We might have to call it something different now, ’cause that’s just so attached to ‘The Motto.’ ”
Ross agrees with the YMCMB spitter.
“It got kinda crazy on the title,” he said, “but you can most definitely expect me and the homey to put some type of work in.”
