Each week our friends at Top 10 bring us a hot list from the internet. Check back each week for a brand new breaking list.

Since T-Pain’s surprising announcement to stop using auto-tune, I couldn’t help but reflect on past great audio enhanced songs. Check out our top ten songs featuring auto-tune that changed the way we’ve been hearing music and remember the good times, for our friend T-Pain.

#10 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Chris Brown[/lastfm] “Forever”

Chris Brown was on top of the world back in 2008 releasing the hit song Forever taking his already great vocals to another level with the help of auto-tune. The song was a big hit and was even used as the song for double mint gum before Breezy’s “little” incident with [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Rihanna[/lastfm].

NEXT PAGE California Love

#9 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Dr. Dre[/lastfm] “California Love”

The classic California anthem featuring hip hop heavyweights [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Tupac[/lastfm] and Dr. Dre was given an extra boost with auto tune. [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Roger Troutman[/lastfm] used his signature voice box to give the hook a little extra kick making the song a certified classic.

NEXT PAGE Lollipop

#8 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Lil Wayne[/lastfm] “Lollipop”

Lil Wayne began show some diversity in his music with the 2008 club hit “Lollipop,” featuring the audio enhanced vocals of the late [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Static Major[/lastfm]. Everytime I hear this song, I can’t help but think of the hilarious scene from Hangover Part 1.

NEXT PAGE Boom Boom Pow

#7 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Black Eyed Peas[/lastfm] “Boom Boom Pow”

The Black Eyed Peas are from the far distant future where you are programmed from birth to use auto tune . This song helped take the group to that level as it became the ultimate party track for 2009.

#6 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Kanye West[/lastfm] “Amazing”

Mr. West took a huge risk doing auto tune since he was already a great rapper. The urge to sing could be the only reason why Kanye decided to make the auto tune transition.

NEXT PAGE Don’t Leave

#5 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Blackstreet[/lastfm] “Don’t Leave “

Blackstreet turned a love song into the ultimate cry for forgiveness with the addition of Teddy Riley’s auto tune enhanced vocals. Kinda makes you wonder… what ever happened to Blackstreet?

NEXT PAGE Buy You A Drank

#4 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]T-Pain[/lastfm] “Buy You A Drank”

This song could possibly be T-Pain’s biggest solo hit and reason why he should reconsider his decision and stick with auto tune. The track was big in 2007, getting everyone on the dance floor and snapping their fingers.

#3 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Jamie Foxx[/lastfm] “Blame It”

T-Pain teamed up with the multi talented Jamie Foxx for this GRAMMY Award winning hit filled with plenty of auto tune. This song probably wouldn’t have been such a hit without auto tune, in my opinion.

NEXT PAGE One More Time

#2 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Daft Punk[/lastfm] “One More Time”

Daft Punk‘s signature sound is hard to pick up even with auto tune because of his creativity in production. This song is a constant club banger every where you go.  And seriously, it just makes you want to dance!

#1 [lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Cher[/lastfm] “Believe”

Cher is probably referred to as the first innovator of auto tune, turning it into an international sensation with her classic 1998 hit “Believe.” The track has become a staple in Cher’s extremely long career and is still played at many clubs today, giving more reason for why auto tune should be here to stay.

Hear that T-Pain?
