[lastfm link_type=”artist_info”]Alicia Keys[/lastfm] is still in her philanthropic mode as she gets used to being a new mommy to her baby boy, Egypt. One of the things she is currently working on is getting celebrities to come off the social networks to help out her cause of Keeping A Child Alive.

Her new campaign is called Digital Life Sacrifice which is on behalf of her Keep a Child Alive campaign. No, your favorite celebs aren’t leaving Twitter and Facebook for good, just for one day. Wednesday, December 1st is World Aids Day and in order to help out the cause Alicia is asking celebrities to sacrifice their digital life until they are able to raise $1 million.

[Lady] Gaga, Justin Timberlake, Usher and other celebrities have joined a new campaign called Digital Life Sacrifice on behalf of Keys’ charity, Keep a Child Alive. The entertainers plan to sign off of social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter on Wednesday, which is World AIDS Day. The participants will sign back on when the charity raises $1 million.

The president and co-founder of Keep a Child Alive, Leigh Blake, had this to say:

“We’re trying to sort of make the remark: Why do we care so much about the death of one celebrity as opposed to millions and millions of people dying in the place that we’re all from?”

Cool. I like the idea. Check out Kim Kardashians ad that is repping for the cause…
