[lastfm]Wyclef Jean[/lastfm] – who is 37, and who came to America as a child – is said to be contemplating running for the Presidency of Haiti. Mr. Jean has maintained his loyalty to his native country, via his charity, Yele Haiti Foundation, since 2005. His uncle, Raymond Alcide Joseph, is also the current ambassador to the United States. He was hired as ambassador-at-large for Haiti back in 2007. Fueling rumors he’s aiming for the top job, Wyclef said: “I can’t sing forever.”
Wyclef has until November to decide if he wants to run for the five-year office.
